Fly to Karlstad with Skyways

Of course this is not quite true, but it is often sunny and you can dance to the sounds of bands such as Sven-Ingvar, Vikings and Torgny Melin on the legendary Sandgrund dance floor (now known as the Blue Moon Bar). When Charles IX founded the city in 1584 there were only 45 households. Today, with 80,000 inhabitants in the municipality of Karlstad is one of Sweden's restaurant most densely populated cities. Do not omit to try such Värmland culinary delights as klarälvslax, venison or nävgröt with pork.
The Harbour Festival is a major annul event in the city. The port gets flooded with thousands of people, who come to listen to the artists and participate in contests. Speaking of the port one is never far from water in Karlstad. The town lies in a delta area where the River Klarälven divides before it flows into Lake Vänern. Don’t miss out on a trip on Lake Vänern and especially to the Segerstads archipelago consisting of some 30 islands peppered with little houses where you can experience the archipelago in its untouched and original state.
